CLYDE HAMMOND, SR. President Summit Laboratories Summit Laboratories has been developing products for the hair care industry since 1957, with Clyde Hammond as president since 1977. By developing a working relationship with salons across the country and focusing on the problems hair stylists have had through the years, Summit became known as the problem-solvers. In 1991, Summit made what is considered its first move to become diversified by solving problems for skin with its purchase of the Dr. Fred Palmer skin line. The next endeavors Summit reached for and obtained, was a silk screening business, private labeling business, contract packaging, and the latest venture, a kit assembly business.
